This is the one I wanted!

Believe it or not, it has been a tough week for me. First it started out with a Monday/ End of story.
Jokes, kids, I’m full of jokes. I was serious about the first part though. Tough or rough or mentally full of words that don’t make sense, that was my week. I should probably start to make this make sense so your head doesn’t explode.
First:
I am sooooooo done with high school. The teachers, the assignments, the people, the people. I said people twice, correct? Good.
Second:
I have an English essay due on Wednesday, and unlike the previous essay that I never turned in, I will actually finish this one and turn it in. I also “plan” on making it great, but it depends on if I’m feeling like being a deep person tomorrow. Most likely actually.
Third:
To be perfectly honest I have no idea why I’m writing this in sections. As you can see from this post I am most certainly and without a doubt currently scatterbrained.
Fourth:
I had a job interview this week! Finally! I know thanks!
Also I remember I liked this and should share

It seems that lately I have had an unusual bout with laziness. I hope I’m using the word bout correctly or I risk the chance of looking like an idiot, which isn’t hard for me to do sometimes but I like to add disclaimers from time to time. Anyway most people would say that it is just Senioritis and that it happens everytime one gets this close to the end of high school. This may be true and I honestly accept it, but my goodness gracious I seem to be losing it. It being my grasp with productivity. I need it back and all I can do is just do it, reach out and say: “Please emancipate yourself from my being my dear laziness, for it seems I have other people to see and things to do and books to read and a girl to hopelessly stare at and poems and songs to be tended to and an awful Trigonometry grade to pull up out of the depths of the toilet.” Also I needyo post more, because all I do is like things and never write. Senioritis is inevitable, but pure laziness can be fought, with thoughts in fact. For example,
Do you want to look fat at graduation, would you actually like to go to Water World wearing a one piece?
It is a pathetic example because, well, it sounds like it came from the lips of a 17 year old girl. Except that it didnt and that is the shameful part hahahahahahaha….ahhh
The title rhymes. That’s interesting and enticing right? Well I hoped so.
Anyway I am back to again describe my life full of antics. Like me being a senior in high school with a month and a half left, and I have an 8-10 page essay due tomorrow which I only have half a page of that is actually written.
I would have thought I would have learned by now, but let’s be serious I knew this was going to happen. -Day before essay is due=do it that day-
It’s a pain knowing that I did it to myself, but I’m not complaining. Honestly I ain’t.
What’ll happen is that I’ll just barely finish with enough pages and words and citations, and I’ll get a B. For my big B-Essay… Like BS. It is what I did to finish the essay also, I don’t usually get anything lower than a B for it.
So why I am writing here? Because writing about life is easy, writing about subjects I have an interest in is easy, writing creatively is easier. Also why am I in CP English if I signed up for Creative Writing anyway? Who knows…I don’t thats for sure. So Tumblr as you happen to be on the World Wide Machine of Infinite Distraction and Conspiracies and Memes….I bid you farewell and till next time, well I won’t be writing an Essay then will I?
So Thursday night (Friday Morning) I had the joy of seeing The Hunger Games Midnight Showing.
One word to describe it, hmmmm: Phenomenal.
Now from my point of view I think Gary Ross (the director) and the other film makers who worked out the film did a spectacular job adapting this from the novel. I have read it and I love it. I also loved the movie. Now as I have read it, I do know that in the process of making the movie that they had to cut certain things from the book for time and momentum and I totally understand that (while some of my friends on the other hand just don’t seem to get it) and that they had to change some things. For example, they changed the way Katniss received the Mockingjay pin. It wasn’t a terrible change, but if they went with how it went in the book, it would have added another 15 minutes to the movie. I wouldn’t have objected but if they had Madge give the pin to Katniss, they would have to explain how she knows Madge and who Madge is. It’s all about the momentum, and they obviously needed more time for the Games.
They changed some other things, small things, they weren’t too noticeable and it was okay because it kept the movie going. So I will now be writing about the most important part of a movie: the actors.
THE ACTORS WERE TERRIFIC. Jennifer Lawrence brought Katniss to life so well, I cross my heart that she needs to be nominated for an Academy Award next year. I’m serious. I believe she was that good. Also while I’m here let me just mention how this movie isn’t even in the same category as Twilight or Harry Potter, movie wise. It was so realistic and even though people call it fantasy it’s different. It just is. Josh Hutcherson was Peeta. I mean he was his character. He was perfect. Elizabeth Banks who played Effie Trinket brought her character to life just by walking on screen. Effie was funny because she was an ignorant Capitol citizen, but at the same time you were perplexed by how she and the other Capitol citizens responded to the Games.
More acting stuff: Woody Harrelson as Haymitch. He embodies the character so well I can’t even imagine anyone else as the character. Lenny Kravitz as Cinna. Can I just say, when our drama class went on a tour of the Buell Theatre in Denver a month ago, we were in his dressing room? Ask so I can remember to give the details. Anyway he was Cinna, I’m excited to see his role in the next movie. Liam Hemsworth…sure but i’m only saying that because he had limited screen time, and to me The Hunger Games isn’t about love triangles it’s about politics and fighting the system that holds people back. Soooo….acting was great. Story, great. I’m forgetting stuff because I don’t want to make this annoyingly long. I’m wrapping it up, I swear. Ok, so it was an intense movie, well done really. Go see it if you haven’t, see it again if you have. Well scripted, well filmed, well acted, scored, etc. etc etcetera.
“Thank you for your consideration.”
Lamb stew with dried plums
Yield 8-10 servings
• 5 pounds lamb fillet, shoulder or leg, cut into 2-inch pieces
• 2 teaspoons salt
• ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
• ½ cup all-purpose flour
• 2 tablespoons olive oil
• 3 cloves garlic, minced
• 1 large onion, chopped
• ½ cup water
• 4 cups beef stock
• 2 teaspoons white sugar
• 3 teaspoons brown sugar
• 3 cups diced carrots
• 1 cup diced zucchini
• 1½ cups diced celery
• 2 large onions, diced
• 3 potatoes, cubed
• 5 cups dried plums
• 2 teaspoons dried thyme
• 3 teaspoons chopped fresh rosemary
• 2 teaspoons chopped fresh basil
• 1 teaspoon chopped fresh parsley
• 2 bay leaves
• 1 cup ginger ale
1. Place lamb, salt, pepper, and flour in a large mixing bowl. Toss to coat meat evenly.
2. Heat olive oil in a large pan and brown the meat, working in batches if you have to.
3. Remove lamb to a side plate. Pour off fat, leaving ¼ cup in the pan. Add the garlic and onion and sauté until the onion becomes golden. De glaze frying pan with the ½ cup water, taking care to scrape the bottom of the pan to stir up all of the tasty bits of meat and onion. Cook to reduce liquid slightly, and then remove from heat.
4. Place the lamb and garlic-onion mixture in a large stockpot. Add beef stock and sugar, stirring until sugars are dissolved. Bring mixture to a boil, cover, and simmer for 1½ hours.
5. Add the vegetables, dried plums, herbs, and ginger ale to the pot. Simmer for 30-45 minutes or until meat and vegetables pierce easily with a fork.
